Salisbury University Electronic Arts Gallery Curator, Preston Poe, put together an ad hoc Video Atelier to help me process and install the 8 channels of video for this first video installation from the Tango Intervention series. Drawing from hundreds of hours of footage from Tango Interventions primarily in Ybor City, Florida and Washington DC, we choreographed 6 short silent B&W loops, arranged in a field of static monitors. We also had another series of images drifting across a field of two HD projections meeting in a corner of the room. The overall effect was kinetic, immersive, sensually inviting, but also strangely alienating. These videos can be reconfigured and adapted for installations in other spaces of any size with any number of monitors or projectors.
